In the 2018-year, Center for Preclinical Testing of Active Substances (FP7 project CPCTAS, GA 206809, 2008-2011.) marks 10 years since its foundation. Further developing the Center idea and activities, the Project of the Serbian Ministry for Education, Science and Technological Development “Preclinical Testing of Bioactive Substances” (ПИБАС, ИИИ41010) implements scientific, research and educational interdisciplinary activities in the field of biomedicine and biotechnology. Faculty of Science (FS) is a coordinator of the Project, and main partners are Faculty of Medical Sciences and Faculty of Economics at the University of Kragujevac. In the period of 2011 – 2018 Project researchers published over 1450 references, of which more than 600 in the internationally recognized monographies and journals (M10 and M20), 22 PhD dissertations were successfully defended; from 89 researchers working on the Project 40 were newly employed with research and scientific titles. In 2018, 25 researchers with scientific and research titles were employed by the Project on mentioned faculties, 20 on FS.

Researchers from Laboratory for Cell and Molecular biology, Ph.D. Dragana Šeklić and Milena Jovanović, assistant researcher, attended Flow cytometry workshop, held by Beckman Coulter in Kragujevac. On this occasion, flow cytometry potential was presented on Cytoflex instrument, with practical demonstration on blood samples.

Researchers, Stefan Blagojević and Nevena Planojević, at the Laboratory for Cell and Molecular Biology, the Faculty of Science, University of Kragujevac, participated in the Eighth Conference of Serbian Biochemical Society, which was held in Novi Sad 16th of November 2018. Researcher Stefan Blagojević presented his results in the form of poster presentations.

At the Fourth International Congress of Serbian Society for Mitochondrial and Free-Radical Physiology, held in Belgrade from 28th to 30th September 2018, the results were presented in the form of a poster presentation by Ph.D. Dragana Seklic, Ph.D. Milena Milutinovic and Milena Jovanovic, researchers at the Laboratory for Cell and Molecular Biology, the Faculty of Science, University of Kragujevac.

Researchers at the Laboratory for Cell and Molecular Biology participated in the Second Biology Congress, which was held in Kladovo from the 25th to the 30th of September 2018. Ph.D. Milena Milutinovic and Ph.D. Danijela Cvetkovic presented their results in the form of poster presentations.

At the manifestation ˝Researchers’ Night˝ held in Kragujevac on September 28th 2018, an experiment, model and poster were presented by Stefan Blagojevic, Nevena Planojevic and Maja Cupurdija, researchers from the Laboratory for Cell and Molecular Biology, the Faculty of Science, University of Kragujevac.

Researchers of the Laboratory for Cell and Molecular Biology Laboratory (Jovana Jovankic, Aleksandra Nikezic, Nevena Planojevic and Maja Cupurdija) participated in the third Petnica´s School of Molecular Biology "PCR in biological and biomedical research", in the period from the 22th to the 27th of September 2018.

Researchers at the Laboratory for Cell and Molecular Biology participated in the Conference of the Federation of European Biochemical Societies (FEBS3 + "From Molecules to Living Systems"), which was held in Siófok, Hungary from the 2nd to the 5th of September 2018. Results of their study were presented by Ph.D. Dragana Šeklić in the form of a poster presentation and researcher Aleksandra Nikezić in the form of oral presentation.

Dr Danijela Cvetkovic researcher at the Institute of Biology and Ecology received the award for the best PhD thesis in the field of Molecular biology for 2017 of the foundation "Goran Ljubijankic"
